National Award winners recognized at ACEC Gala

Twenty Awards of Excellence were handed out, with top prize— the Schreyer Award — presented to Ausenco Engineering for the Port Mann Water Supply Tunnel, other special awards went to: Knight Piésold, RJC Engineers, Stantec, COWI North America, and McElhanney Consulting.


Bill proposed in Ontario to allow 14-storey timber structures

The Act would amend the Ontario Building Code to allow for wood frame construction to be used in mid-rise buildings up to 14 stories, instead of the current six stories.


Team selected for Hwy 401 rail tunnel project

The project includes construction of a tunnel under Highway 401/409 to accommodate two tracks and replacing footings of retaining walls.
